The dealership, formerly known as Bill Kummer Harley-Davidson, has been in business for almost 35 years. The owner, Bill Kummer, began his Harley dealership on April 1st, 1973. The business has continued to grow and has undergone many positive changes.
Other features of Route 43 Harley-Davidson's 21,000 sq.ft. facility are: a window between the showroom and service department to allow customers to see the clean and modern service area where their bike is serviced. There is a post lift in front of the window on which a shiny new Harley-Davidson® motorcycle is raised up and spotlighted for night time viewing. The sales delivery office also has a window looking out into the drop off area so the excited, new owner can view His or Her new Harley-Davidson® cycle while doing the paperwork just before riding it away. The service department features a long drop off area with an electric platform lift that can be raised to load and unload a motorcycle from a truck! The service department also has an office where the service manager writes up the repair orders. A large wash bay is enclosed in the drop off area in order to be able to wash the customers bikes after being serviced or repaired. This area also accesses a freight lift to the second story, which provides storage for the dealership and also winter storage for the customers bikes. The main service area is fully air-conditioned and features both post and platform lifts. Harley-Davidson.
The dealership is now called Route 43 Harley-Davidson. We are located less than one hour north of the Harley-Davidson headquarters on I-43 in Sheboygan, WI. We started the move to our new location on April 1, 1998, on the day of our 25th Anniversary! The bold architecture of this building was designed to draw attention from the Interstate. The adjoining restaurant, Cruiser's, is a 50's/60's style drive-in restaurant featuring jumbo burgers and frozen custard. The restaurant brings into our dealership many people who ordinarily would never visit a "motorcycle shop".
